The 531 area code overlays 402 across eastern Nebraska, serving Omaha, Lincoln, Bellevue, Fremont, Norfolk, and Grand Island since its 2011 activation.
Ask a longtime Eau Claire resident what area code they grew up with, and they'll say 715. Ask what a brand-new business line there might show up as today, and the honest answer is: maybe not that at all.
